What do you believe is false that other people think is true?

1. That Jesus told his disciples that one of them would betray him.

Jesus told his disciples that one of them would hand him over. He did not as much as hint that it would be an act of treachery.

2. That the disciples of Jesus questioned their own loyalty to Jesus when they asked, “Is it I?”

Each of the disciples just wanted to know if the errand was assigned to him.

3. That Judas was necessarily duplicitous when he asked, “Is it I?”

Jesus cast out the devil when he washed the heel lifted up against him. The washing left Judas with no desire to fulfill his obligation under the covenant he made to hand over Jesus. Was Jesus going to assign the errand to him just after he removed his desire to do it? Sincerely, Judas wanted to know.

4. That the influence of Satan upon Judas was to encourage him to hand over Jesus, after he entered him the second time.

Satan was opposed to those things of God which Jesus said should happen at Jerusalem; and after he entered Judas the second time, his influence was to discourage him from handing over Jesus.

5. That Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss.

Judas overcame Satan and glorified Jesus when he accepted the errand he gave him. Judas served Jesus with a kiss.

6. That Judas hanged himself.

After Judas saw that Jesus was condemned, he regretted that he had become a traitor. He went again to the ones with whom he had made the covenant to deliver Jesus, confessed to them that he had trespassed against an innocent man when he delivered him, returned the coins that they had paid him, departed, and choked on his grief.
